I am working on getting better photos to share here. I just got a new camera and hope to improve the quality and quantity of my photos. It is a Rebel EOS T2i. I also recently signed up as a Close to my Heart Independent Consultant. I plan to share photos, ideas and how tos for the items I make from glass and also the items I make from paper. I have been creating both with glass and also making cards and gifts from paper for my family, friends and co-workers for the past year or so. I absolutely love working in my glass studio but I also enjoy making greeting cards, books and small gifts with my Cricut machines and other tools I have in my craft room. I have a Cricut Imagine, Cricut Expression, a Cinch 2 book binder, Big Shot Electric Embossing machine, a Cricut Your Story and Your Story Photo laminating and binding machines. I enjoy making all kinds of things. The 3-D flowers you can make with the Cricut are beautiful. The Art Philosophy Cricut cart exclusive to CTMH is awesome and has flowers, tags, boxes, cards and more with coordinating rubber stamps. I still have my glass work on consignment but am also building an Etsy site. See the links page for easy navigating to Etsy and my CTMH website.

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a great summer too. I have been spending my precious art time playing with the Cricut Expression die cut machine. I am learning to use it to make greeting cards, but more importantly, to cut vinyl for sandblasting glass. I learned about Verre Eglomise at the Glass Expo this spring. The sandblast cabinet and compressor is set up and I am able to use it. Verre Eglomise is reverse painting on glass. The method I learned includes sandblasting a design on the back side of a glass piece, painting the sandblasted area with oil paints and then covering the back of the piece entirely with metal leaf. It is beautiful! The cricut machine is very useful as a vinyl cutter and the designs available are endless. Wait until you see the koi fish I am working on from the Pagoda cartridge. I will post some photos very soon.
Meanwhile I am still fusing - mostly bottles and earrings since these are my main sellers at the Big Bear Crafts, Gifts and Collectibles shop where I rent space for my glass work. I love fusing glass! I withdrew from the Masters Program I was in because I didn't have enough time for art and I realized that art is one of the most important things in my life (besides husband and family of course). I want to create art full time and for right now any spare time needs to be about art. It keeps me sane and whole. Creativity is like breathing to me - necessary to survival!
